Abby Lyn Horsley, 22, Hastings, NE, formerly of Tea, was born October 15th, 1994 and went to be with Jesus, June 4th, 2017. Abby loved life and lived it to the fullest. Her smile and laugh were infectious and touched hearts and lives of those who knew her.

Abby was very involved in church growing up, with the youth group, dance team and music programs. She grew up in Tea, SD and attended Tea Area School. She was involved in music and sports but especially loved basketball. Her tenacious spirit and commitment to her team mates and the game was the same way she approached everything she did in life. Abby is survived and will be deeply missed by her parents, Gary & Rhonda Horsley of Tea, SD; one brother, Austin (Adrienne) and nephew, Archer Horsley, Sioux Falls; one sister, Nicole Horsley, Tea, SD; grandmother, Beverly Horsley, Sioux Falls, formerly of Wessington Springs, SD; and grandmother Helen Hoglund, Lake Norden, SD; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Abby was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Gerald Horsley and Gene Hoglund; and one uncle, Dave Eggebraaten.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Abby’s memory.

My heart aches for Gary, Rhonda and the Horsley family to lose recently in death your precious loved one Abby after just 22 way too short years, way too young, way too soon. When death robs us of someone we love very much, it causes much sadness and grief. No other pain will ever be greater that the pain of losing a child. Words are so limited that can give comfort, so I would like to share with you a beautiful scripture where Jesus makes us a wonderful promise at John 5:28, which says: “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out…” . Our heavenly Father promises us to do away with man’s worst enemy, death at Rev. 21: 4 which reads: “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.” Isaiah 33:24 guarantees us: “And no resident will say “I am sick,” ever again. For more comforting scriptures please visit: http://bit.ly/1K38EFt. It has given me hope, strengthened my faith and helped me find the answer to Why? I know it will do the same for you. God’s kingdom that Jesus taught us to pray for at Matt. 6: 9, 10 will bring about these wonderful promises including the resurrection. John 6:40 Also, Titus 1: 2 tells us this promise of a resurrection: “is based on a hope of the everlasting life that God, who cannot lie, promised long ago.” Isaiah 26:19 “Your dead will live……And the earth will let those powerless in death come to life.” Isaiah 25:8 “He will swallow up death forever. For Jehovah himself has spoken it.” Jehovah (Psalm 83:18) invites you to throw all your burdens on Him and He will sustain you in your time of grief. I offer my sincere condolences to the family. Feel free to contact me at my email address: myranj@centurytel.net May these promises give you hope, comfort and peace in your time of grief.
I pray it will do your heart goods to please watch this beautiful video (song 144) entitled “Keep Your Eyes on the Prize” https://tv.jw.org/#en/video/VODChildren/pub-pksn_24_VIDEO
