April Jo Jacobson-Gustafson

April 17, 1980 ~ October 13, 2019

April J. (Jacobson) Gustafson, 39, Hurley, SD, died suddenly and unexpectedly Sunday, October 13, 2019, at her home, from unknown health problems.

Visitation will be 5-7pm, Thursday, October 17, 2019, with a sharing time at 7pm, at Heartland Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be 1pm, Friday, October 18, at Spirit of Truth Lutheran Church in Brandon, SD. (112 E Annabelle St.)

April was born April 17, 1980, in Luverne, MN, to Jay and Alice (Knobloch) Jacobson, and was raised in Valley Springs, SD.  She graduated from Brandon Valley High School in 1998. After high school, she went to and graduated from Wartburg College in Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She also went to Chicago to attend cosmetology school. April was a youth minister in Granite Falls, MN, worked as a waitress, gas station cashier, and at the card center at TCF Bank. April married Jeff Gustafson on September 17, 2016, in Brandon. They enjoyed attending the Minnesota Renaissance Festival and game nights with her brother, Jason, playing skipbo and dominos. She loved hunting and fishing with her dad, watching game shows on TV, especially Price is Right, loved watching movies; her favorite was The Wizard of Oz; and she enjoyed reading, but singing was a special talent.  She especially loved her nephews, Jacob, Hudson, Alex, Braden, and Noah.

April was baptized on May 11, 1980 and confirmed in October 1994 at Beaver Valley Lutheran Church. She was currently a member of Spirit of Truth Lutheran Church in Brandon.

April will be deeply missed by her husband, Jeff, Hurley; mother, Alice Jacobson, Brandon; two siblings, Jason Jacobson, Sioux Falls and Jody (Christian) Rieck, Andover, MN; mother-in law, Arlene (Scott) Bjorneberg, Sioux Falls; sibling-in-laws, Tim (Jynna) Gustafson, Canton, and Melissa (Chris Lundgren) Gustafson, Sioux Falls; and five nephews, Jacob, Hudson, Alex, Braden, and Noah.

April was welcomed into Heaven by her father, Jay Jacobson, and her father-in-law, Bruce Gustafson.
