Brandon Larsen, 21, Brandon, died Tuesday, October 8, 2019.

Funeral services will be 2pm, Friday, October 11, 2019, at Blessed Redeemer Lutheran Church, Brandon.  Visitation will start at Noon.  Private family burial will take place at a later time.

The Family requests in lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Brandon’s honor.

Brandon Alexander Larsen was born on August 19, 1998 in Sioux City, Iowa to Brenda Larsen. He was baptized on September 19, 1998 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sioux City, Iowa by Pastor Russell Senstad, receiving God’s gifts of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. He was confirmed at Blessed Redeemer Lutheran Church in Brandon SD on April 28, 2013. Brandon’s confirmation verse was Philippians 4:13, “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.”

He attended Brandon Valley Elementary, Middle School, and High School, graduating in 2017.  During his youth and High School years, Brandon excelled at many different sports and enjoyed playing baseball, soccer, football, and basketball. He was a member of Blessed Redeemer Lutheran Church and its youth group. Brandon attended two LCMS National Youth Gatherings, one in San Antonio, Texas in 2013, and another in New Orleans in 2016. 

Following his graduation from High School, Brandon worked at Sam’s Club in Sioux Falls and for Earthscapes landscaping company. Brandon enjoyed fishing, playing with his dogs, and spending time with his family and friends.

Brandon passed away on October 8, 2019 at the age of 21 years 1 month and 19 days. 

Brandon will be deeply missed by his mother, Brenda Larsen; sister, Barbara Larsen; grandmother, Leola Larsen, Wayne, NE; one uncle, Roger (Eve) Larsen, Randolph, NE; and two cousins, Christie Larsen and Kevin (Heidi) Larsen.

Brandon was preceded in death by his grandpa, Donald Larsen.

    Brenda, I am so shocked to hear about Brandon’s passing and praying that God’s peace and comfort will surround you at this difficult time. May you find comfort in the words of the psalmist “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.” (Psalm 116:15) I have many fond memories of our years together at Redeemer.
