Brian N. Honken, 57, Sioux Falls, died Monday, June 2, 2021, at the Ava’s House in Sioux Falls, after a long battle with cancer.

Brian Nick Honken was born in Sioux Falls, SD on September 6, 1963 to Willie and Gladys (Swier) Honken. He was one of four boys. Brian graduated from Brandon Valley High School. He was a very compassionate person especially to the elderly. Family and friends meant so much to him and he missed his brothers very much.
Grateful for having shared his life are his daughter, Katie and his son, Mark, of Arkansas; parents, Willie and Gladys Honken, Sioux Falls; other special people in Brian’s life include Lori Honken, Omaha; Karen Pearson, Alcester; Ron Bosch, Sioux Falls; Elaine Swier, Crooks; Vonnie Baumberger, Dell Rapids; and Tracey Kuemper, Sioux Falls; his beloved dog, Zoie; and many nieces and nephews.
Brian is preceded in death by his three brothers, Mark, Brad and Chad; and his grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation in Brian’s memory.
Willie and Gladys, you have my deepest sympathies on the loss of Brian. I have so many fond memories of when you lived by Renner and all the fun we used to all have. Your four boys are now all together and may perpetual light always shine upon them. Prayers for all of you.
