Carla Marie Duinkerken was born July 21, 1954 to Peter and Delores (Hutt) Duinkerken in Worthington, MN. She graduated from Worthington High in 1972. Carla worked at Sathers in Round Lake, MN and Walmart in Worthington, MN. She married Russell McCuen and later Charlie Lang.
Carla enjoyed going to casinos, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and also enjoyed going out with family and friends to socialize. She had an amazing sense of humor. She always wanted to be a comedian and make people laugh, joking with everyone. She was always willing to give to help anyone in need. She was very hard working and was the “rock” for her family and son. Tim, her friend, was very special to her during the final leg of her journey.
Grateful for sharing her life are her son, Kenneth (Kim) McCuen, Brandon; four grandchildren, Alyssa, Tessa, Griffin and Savannah; eight siblings, Lynn (Mark) Oberg, Sioux Falls, Steven (Bev) Duinkerken, Monticello, FL, Rebecca (Greg) Jaldersma, Ft. Myers, FL, Mark (Sheila) Duinkerken, Norwalk, IA, Bart (Michelle) Duinkerken, Sioux Falls, Paul (Shayla) Duinkerken, Sioux Falls, Lisa (Edward) Laughter, Mankato, MN, and Carrie (Terry) Tow, Cape Coral, FL; and her special friend, Tim.
Carla was preceded in death by her parents; aunts and uncles; and former husband, Russell McCuen.
Please accept my sincerest sympathy. Carla suffered so much, both heartache and physical pain, and now, I know she’s at rest and nothing can hurt her ever again. Prayers for your strength and healing.
Prayers to the whole family. Way to young. Peace.
Our dear cousin Carla, We are so sorry to have found out about your passing a month after you were gone. We’ll remember the good times! Kevin and Julie Jasperson RIP
