During the mid ‘90’s they moved back to the Brandon/Sioux Falls area before settling in Canton, where she resided until her death. The couple had two boys, Dana and Aaron.

Chiko loved gardening. She even had a Japanese Garden in California. She loved sewing, watching TV, crafting, making food and goodies, always bringing people at church gifts of something that she made. She was a member of the Swedona Covenant Church.

She was a very gentle and giving person. She was always concerned that people didn’t feel left out and she was always interested in learning. She was often inspired in learning the cultural differences in the United States and often taught herself by reading books.
