Clarice Diane Pearson, 78, Renner, loving wife of Russell Pearson, died, Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at the Avera McKennan Hospital, in Sioux Falls.
Visitation will be at 1-3:30pm, Friday, September 6, 2019, at Heartland Funeral Home, Brandon, SD with a short Memorial Service beginning at 2:00pm.
Clarice Diane Hansen was born to Clarence and Louise (Braastad) Hansen on June 19, 1941, in Beresford, where she was raised and graduated high school. She later went on to attend O’Connell Airline School in Minneapolis. She then returned to Sioux Falls and worked at Shriver’s as a floor demo model. Eventually she worked in the Book and Stationary Store in sales. Later, Clarice worked at Litton’s managing the food service for the employees, but had to leave to care for her ailing mother. After the passing of her mother, she went to work managing TS Vending, making food for the vending machines.
Clarice met Russell at a football game as a blind date. They married on April 1, 1960 in Beresford and lived in Michigan for a couple of years before returning to Sioux Falls to start their family. She loved garage sales, doodling, art, craft shows, and collecting. She was very proud of her extensive Egermann collection. She enjoyed spending time with Russell and they were always on the go somewhere. Even though they loved eating out, she was a wonderful cook who liked to try new recipes. She especially loved spending time with the grandkids, and having overnight visits with them.
Clarice will be deeply missed by her husband, Russell Pearson, Renner; son, Terry (Patti) Pearson, Larchwood; two grandchildren, Nikki (Jason) Kurvink, Sioux Falls and Matthew Pearson, Larchwood; two grandchildren, Sydnee and Rylee; three siblings, Leon (Ruth) Hansen, Beresford, Elroy (Faye) Hansen, Albuquerque, NM, and Janet (Don) Ripperda, Larchwood; two sisters-in-law, Opal Harris and Viola Noah, both of California; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Clarice was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Doris; brothers-in-law, Wendell and Lowell; and sisters-in-law, Lavonne and Fern.
Dear Family,
What a sudden and heart breaking loss. I can not imagine the loss those closest to her are
feeling . My love, prayers, and thoughts are with you as are my family’s. I have a lot of beautiful memories of my Aunt and namesake, as is her sister Janet. Her beautiful laugh I can still hear, and her kind and loving nature is a wonderful example to all of us. A cherished memory is when she made this amazing fancy dinner (FONDUE) in her home when I got to visit her with Mom (Doris), little brother (Kenny), and Uncle Elroy, who drove us from Albuquerque to South Dakota for a visit. I share that dinner experience to this day with my husband, children and four grandchildren. Thank you Aunt Clarice. Love Janice.
