Dale Robert Stoterau, 85, Brandon, was called to his Heavenly Rest Sunday, May 14, 2023, at the Mary Jane Brown Home in Luverne, MN.
Visitation with his family present will be 2-4pm, Sunday, May 21, 2023, at the Blessed Redeemer Lutheran Church, Brandon. Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Monday, May 22, 2023, also at Blessed Redeemer Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Luverne, MN, with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Mary Jane Brown home in Luverne or to the Hardwick Legion.
Dale Robert Stoterau was born at his family’s home in Luverne, MN, on July 19, 1937, to Harvey and Nora (Smith) Stoterau. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Hardwick, MN. He attended grade school and high school in Luverne MN, and graduated in 1956.
Dale was united in marriage to Donna Lee Oye on July 17, 1960, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hardwick, MN. This union was blessed with three children, Kurt, Gwynne, and Lucynda. Four days after the wedding, Dale enlisted in the US Army and served from 1960 to 1962, at Fort Leonard Wood. He served in the Army Reserve until 1966 and achieved the rank of Sergeant.
During high school, he worked at the creamery in Luverne MN. He also worked at John Morrell’s packing plant for 30 years. He later was employed at the Hy-Vee meat department. In his retirement, he enjoyed working for Marv’s Sanitation.
Dale was a member of Blessed Redeemer Lutheran Church and the American Legion of Hardwick, MN.

Dale is survived by his children, Kurt (Yvonne) Stoterau, Lennox, SD, Gwynne (Brent) Anderson, Brandon, SD, and Lucynda, Castlewood, SD; grandchildren, Shane (Malorie) Stoterau, Brandon, SD, Kelcey (Brenton) Smith, Brandon, SD, Dallas Szakatz, Hartford, SD, Kaylee (Cody) Ver Steeg, Inwood, IA, Jordan Wilson, Harrisburg, SD, Sienna (Tyson) Hart, Sioux Falls, SD, and Mariah Stoterau, Harrisburg, SD; great-grandchildren, Logan, Teydan, Titus, Eden, Abel, Everleigh, and Elouise; sister, Karol (Dr. Jerry) Mohs, Alexandria, MN; sisters-in-law, Marvelle Stoterau, Sioux Falls, SD, and Virginia Peters of Jordan, MN; brothers-in-law, Larry Binford, Moorhead, MN, Bruce (Marlyn) Oye, Hardwick, MN, and Burdell (Barbara) Oye, Prior Lake, MN; and many nieces, nephews, and other friends and relatives.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; his parents, Harvey and Nora (Smith) Stoterau; grandson, Adam Stoterau; brother, Eugene Stoterau; sister, Marcia Binford; and sister-in-law Rita Shirkey.
