Donald Franklin Fueston was born February 21, 1936, in Hurley, SD, to Frank and Berneice (Broyles) Fueston. Don attended school in Hurley before he enlisted in the Army in 1958, during the Korean War conflict. After his three-year enlistment, he returned to South Dakota and married Betty Lou Johnson. The couple had two children; Donnie and Tammie. In May of 1972, Don married Faye (Reidy) Oleson, and together they had a son, David, along with Faye’s children; Leann, Barbara, Joe and Marlene.

Don started working with his father at the GTA Farmer’s Elevator in Ellis, riding along with his father on several of his over-the-road trucking runs. When his father retired from driving, he took over his route. Don hauled a variety of freight. He spent the past 27 years driving for K & J Trucking.
Don was known for his passion of driving. His work was his life. When he wasn’t on the road, he was usually at home laying on the couch, watching TV or eating. He was frequently seen with a cup of coffee and his non-filtered Camels. He also had a love for his granddaughters’ dog, Daisy. Don was said to have the biggest heart. He would help anyone with anything, at any time. He taught new truckers the ways of the road.

Don will be deeply missed by his children, Donnie (Karen) Fueston, Mapleton, IA, Tammie Stevens, Wadena, MN, Dave (Desiree) Fueston, Brandon, Marlene (Lyle) Roder, Garretson, Joe Oleson, AR and Barbara Guyaux, WA; 14 grandchildren, Patrick, Daniel, Logan, Sadiann, Mark, Adria, Jessie, Randi, Kylee, Maddie, RoxAnne, David, Caitlin, and Caleb; two great-grandchildren, Kade and Lexi; three brothers, Roger (Judy) Fueston, Papillion, NE, Jerry Fueston, Paris, TX, and Arden (Candy) Fueston, Sioux Falls; special sister-in-law, Diane Fueston, Brandon; and nieces, Kindell (Thad) Pierce, Taylor and Samantha, Worland, WY, and Kelli Jo (Evan) Nyhof, and Hayden, Brandon.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Faye; three siblings, Peggy, Richard, and Clinton; and step-daughter, Leann.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to the St. Christopher Truckers Development and Relief Fund. PO Box 30763, Knoxville, TN, 37930
