Elaine Marie Stauffer, daughter of Paul and Lois Stauffer was born on January 30, 1950 in Canton, Ohio. The family moved to California where Elaine grew up and graduated from high school. She lived in a variety of places through out her lifetime including, California, Arizona, Iowa, and Colorado. While living in Colorado and employed with Wells Fargo, Elaine experienced her first stroke. She moved to Sioux Falls where she pursued and graduated with a degree in Computer Science at Colorado Technical Institute. Elaine was working through Experience Works, a federal employment program, at Volunteers of America Dakotas. During that time she moved to Brandon with help and support from her friends at Volunteers of America, Dakotas. Shortly after she moved to Brandon was when she experienced her second stroke. She then moved into Helping Hands Assisted Living Center in Brandon. She was eventually moved to Good Sam’s Nursing Home in Canastota, SD where she stayed prior to her last hospitalization at Avera Hospital. Elaine enjoyed reading, movies and vacationing. She was a vegetarian and enjoyed organic Indian food. She loved to be with friends, to smile and laugh. She gave her life to Jesus Christ during her initial days at Good Sam’s. Passing from this earth to her eternal home with Jesus on June 7th, 2011.
