He served four years and then returned to Sioux Falls and entered the Air Guard. On April 12, 1958, Glen married Vergene Bullis in Flandreau, SD. The couple started farming in Moody County until 1971. In 1972, Glen and Vergene purchased a farm near White, SD in Brookings Co. where Glen raised cattle and grain until his retirement in 2004. The couple then relocated in Brandon. Unfortunately, Vergene died in 2013. Glen continued to reside in Brandon until his death.
Glen loved his grandsons and spending time with them was a treat for him. His off the cuff comments and opinions kept everyone guessing what he would say next. Glen also loved to read extensively, visiting with his coffee buddies and playing cards.
Glen will be deeply missed by his children, David, of Brookings, and Diane (Doug) Clark, of Chanhassen, MN; three grandsons, Jacob, Justin and Joshua; two sisters, Mary Lou Kern, Sioux Falls, and Irene (Lawrence) Barthel, Kalispell, MT; many nieces and nephews.
Glen was preceded in death by his wife, Vergene; his son, Paul; his parents, and one brother, Roy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests the people take time to hug their loved ones.
