Glen Lloyd Clark was born September 6, 1930, in Pipestone, MN to Lloyd and Garna (Neuman) Clark. He attended country school in the Flandreau area and then enlisted in the US Air Force. He served four years and then returned to Sioux Falls and entered the Air Guard. On April 12, 1958, Glen married Vergene Bullis in Flandreau, SD. The couple started farming in Moody County until 1971. In 1972, Glen and Vergene purchased a farm near White, SD in Brookings Co. where Glen raised cattle and grain until his retirement in 2004. The couple then relocated in Brandon. Unfortunately, Vergene died in 2013. Glen continued to reside in Brandon until his death.
Glen loved his grandsons and spending time with them was a treat for him. His off the cuff comments and opinions kept everyone guessing what he would say next. Glen also loved to read extensively, visiting with his coffee buddies and playing cards.
Glen will be deeply missed by his children, David, of Brookings, and Diane (Doug) Clark, of Chanhassen, MN; three grandsons, Jacob, Justin and Joshua; two sisters, Mary Lou Kern, Sioux Falls, and Irene (Lawrence) Barthel, Kalispell, MT; many nieces and nephews.
Glen was preceded in death by his wife, Vergene; his son, Paul; his parents, and one brother, Roy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests the people take time to hug their loved ones.
What can I say, you have been a wonderful daughter and have done so much for your partents and know that they loved you very much, remember all the good times, and remember to laugh at all the funny stories. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
Your dad helped my dad as a kid with farm work as did his brother Roy. I was just a kid about 7 or so. Your dad always had time to talk to me when he worked for my dad.
Your dad grew up on a farm a mile north of me. You have my sympathy and prayers. Yes, I will hug my kids, grandkids, and hubby.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. My deepest sympathy to you as you mourn the loss of your dad. May you find comfort in the loving memories you have of both your parents.
Doug, Diane, Jacob, Justin & Joshua,
My sympathies to you and your family on the passing of your father. May your fathers memory live in your hearts forever. Thinking of you today and the days ahead as we celebrate the Christmas Season.
May God bless you and wrap his loving arms around you and bring you peace.
