Healing Hope Ministries

“He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”

2 Corinthians 1:4

Healing Hope Ministries helps families and their support systems find hope and healing after the loss of a child. We provide encouragement, compassion, and support through child loss grief retreats, small grief support groups, and events. Through love, we meet people where they are and hold a safe space to process grief. It is our desire to light a path for hope and healing.

Sad Isn’t Bad

Free Grief Counseling and Support for Children and Their Caregivers

Sad Isn’t Bad is a free grief counseling and support program for children and adults who care for them. This non-denominational community program is open to all school-age children (K-12) and their parents or caregivers.

The mission of Sad Isn’t Bad is to support children and their families who have lost a loved one. Sad Isn’t Bad is for the whole family to:

  • help children identify and express their feelings in a healthy way;
  • foster open family communications;
  • provide tools to help individuals continue on their grief journey.

For each session, groups meet once a week for four weeks. Professional counselors and social workers lead separate groups for children, adolescents and adults.

The Lourdes Center

As a ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Sioux Falls, we support the Diocesan vision of forming a culture of lifelong Catholic missionary discipleship through God’s love. Through one-on-one counseling, retreats, programs and education, our growing team aims to integrate a Catholic vision of the human person with the psychological sciences in the support of human flourishing.

The Lourdes Center offers a variety of services to the community.

Counseling – We believe healthy people go to counseling. Our clinicians specialize in a wide array of needs including anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, emotional wounds and loss. We will work with you to connect you with the right counselor for you.

Grief and Loss – Grief doesn’t wait. So, when you’re in need, we’re ready for you. We offer multiple grief programs throughout the year.

Programs – The Lourdes Center isn’t just a counseling agency. In our world, each and every one of us can benefit from a deeper encounter with God’s healing love. The various programs we offer are aimed at this reality.

Presentations – Our team travels throughout eastern South Dakota to offer educational presentations to Churches, schools and organizations on topics related to mental wellness, emotional wounds, interpersonal/team dynamics and God’s healing love
