Jeremy Blake Weiland, 37, Sioux Falls, died Thursday, October 8, 2015, at home following a sudden medical issues.

A Memorial Visitation Service will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015, from 12:00 Noon ~ 4:00 PM, at the Baymont Inn (3200 S. Meadows Ave. – I-29 & 41st – West of IHOP) in Sioux Falls. We ask you to celebrate Jeremy’s life. Please wear jeans and your favorite jersey!

May 11, 1978 a beautiful boy is born in St. Cloud, MN. The feeling of joy is felt by all.

Jeremy Blake Weiland grew up in Minnesota and attended St. Anthony’s until he moved to Sioux Falls, SD. He attended JFK, Boy’s Town and graduated from Roosevelt High School. He started college in 2011 but health issues prevented him from finishing. It was always his dream to return.

Traveling was something he enjoyed. He visited the west coast, Washington DC, Florida, Hershey Pennsylvania, the battlefield of Gettysburg, Nebraska, Iowa, Florida-Disney, Epcot, SeaWorld, and Leadville, Colorado. The trip which stood out the most was when his godmother Barna flew him out to Denver. He saw the Bronco’s play on the 50 yard line, got a signed shirt and saw many other sights. He remained a Bronco fan until his older brother Josh became a Packers fan and he switched to the Vikings for some fun competition.

Jeremy was all about sports. He participated in baseball, wrestling, football, basketball, competition swimming, never passed a chance for Punt, Pass, and Kick. He sang in the boys chorus, played the trumpet and drum for the marching band in Boy’s Town. For all activities and competitions he never failed to place for that trophy or ribbon or medal. Jeremy loved coaching his son’s football team.

Jeremy always believed in Jesus Christ. He followed the Catholic faith until he was Confirmed. He spent years in AWANA’s and scouts.Jeremy eventually followed Christ teachings at Celebrate where his heart and soul found it’s home.

Jeremy had 2 older brothers-Joshua and Jacob and 2 younger brothers Jesse and Jona. He has one surviving grandmother-Clarice Wesley. He was blessed with 2 sister-in-laws Natalie (Josh) and Andrea (Jacob), 4 nephews Matias, David, Micah, and Jackson and nieces Sophia and Alannah. Jeremy always thought fondly of his aunt’s Barna and Melissa, uncle K.C. and aunt Deb, uncle Bob and aunt Frances Odenthal, aunt Roxy Antil, aunt Mary, aunt Ann and 11 cousins.

Jeremy is preceded in death by Clare Wesley , Blaine Wesley, and Lois and Chuck Weiland.

A memorial has been established for Jacob’s education fund.

    My heart is broken and in shock. Your son was an amazing person, who had his problems but over came many bumps in the road. I’m blessed to have know him and just know he is an angel watching over you!!!

I don’t know if there is a group close to you, but there is help on the website for you to get through your journey of grief. My prayers are with you and your whole family.
