Joel H. Ashby, 34, Sioux Falls, died Sunday, November, 5, 2017.
Visitation with family present, will be 2-4pm, Sunday, November 12, 2017, at Heartland Funeral Home, Brandon. A Memorial Service will be 11:00am, Monday, November 13, at Celebration United Methodist Church, Brandon. A Private Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Joel H. Ashby III was born May 2, 1983, in Texas, to Joel H. Jr. and Deborah (Trisdale) Ashby. Joel was raised in McCook, NE and attended school there. Joel moved to South Dakota in 2001 and more recently lived in Sioux Falls where he worked at BPI. Joel was married to Stephanie Tague and to this union, two children were born; Petra and Avalee.
Joel enjoyed being outdoors. He really loved to go camping, fishing, and kayaking. Joel’s other favorite hobby was working on cars. He was very mechanical and loved to work on engines and fix up various cars. But most of all, he loved spending time with his daughters.
Joel will be deeply missed by his two daughters, Petra, and Avalee; his wife Stephanie; his mother, Deborah L. Johnson; three siblings, Brian D. (Erin) Ashby, Michael J. Ashby, and Tracy (Ratliff) Kuno; many cousins, uncles and aunts, and by his loving family-in-law.
Joel was preceded in death by his sister, Katina M. (Ratliff) Davis; his grandparents, one aunt, Tamara Bible; a nephew, John Dillion Kohl; and one cousin, Kirk Allen Trisdale.
