Jon Joel Husby

Jon J. Husby, 64, Sioux Falls, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024, of natural causes at home, after a brief illness.

A Memorial Service is planned for 11:30 am, Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Heartland Funeral Home in Brandon, SD.  A luncheon will follow.

Jon Joel Husby was born in Aberdeen, SD on September 17, 1959, to Jewel and Mylis Husby.  He was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Aberdeen. Jon graduated high school at Aberdeen Central in 1977.  He attended NSU to obtain his bachelor’s degree in business.  Jon worked for Walmart in Aberdeen and Sioux Falls, retiring in October 2023.  Jon has been in the rental business since age 19.

Jon is survived by his sister Karla (Dan) Brown, Sioux Falls; one nephew, Marshall (Giezelle) Brown, Pierre; one niece, Kallie (Joe) Kroeger, Mankato, MN; his foster nephew, Hazen Brown; 2 great-nieces, Evelyn and Camille; one aunt, Donna Lang; and several cousins.

Jon was preceded in death by his parents, Jewel and Mylis; both sets of grandparents, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
