Patricia A. Styles, 71, Sioux Falls, SD, passed peacefully on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 4:55 PM at the Avantara Norton Nursing Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church (201 Clark St, Montrose, SD 57048) from 1 PM – 4 PM on Saturday, March 16, 2024. For those unable to attend, condolences may be sent to 205 W Montrose St, Montrose, SD, 57048

Patricia Ann Pien was born to Melvin and Marcelle (From) Pien in Sioux Falls, SD, as one of four children. She spent time in her childhood in Ortley, SD, with her cousins, who affectionately called her Patty. She graduated high school at Washington High School in 1970.

After graduating, Patty spent most of her working life in customer service with many odd jobs. Her last job was assisting the elderly at Active Generations. Shortly after retiring, she developed health issues that forced her to slow down and focus on taking care of herself.

Patty resided at Avantara Norton for the past five years and made many friends along the way. She was still helping where she could. She was always willing to go above and beyond for follow-up residents, ensuring they were cared for appropriately. Patty helped make crafts and decorations for all holidays and loved doing puzzles and playing Bingo twice weekly.

Patty will be remembered for her contagious laugh and her love for her family. She loved watching her grandkids play sports, especially baseball. She was a die-hard Elvis Presley fan and loved banana marshmallow malts from B&G Milky Way. She made an indelible mark on everyone she met and will be missed dearly.

Patty is survived by her four children, Vicki (Steve) Mallinger, Kristi Thomas, Marcus (Shanna) Styles, and Kevin Styles; six grandchildren, Ryan (Niki) Mallinger, Anthony Mallinger, Emma Mallinger, Jacob Mallinger, Caleb Styles, and Nathan Styles; and two brothers, Mel Pine and John (Linda) Pien.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, David.
