Paul Alvin Tietz was born May 6, 1975, in St. Paul, MN, to John and Alice (Peterson) Tietz. He was raised and attended school in St. Paul, graduating in 1993. He then enlisted in the US Marines and served four years. Upon his honorable discharge in 1997, he worked and lived in San Diego, CA. He made a quick detour back to St. Paul where he met Tammy Dorsett. The couple moved back to San Diego and they were married on July 19, 2003 in Las Vegas. Paul attended college intending to go into the medical field. In 2005, the couple moved back to St. Paul due to his mothers’ passing. Shortly after, Paul and Tammy moved to Brandon to be closer to Tammy’s parents. In 2008, Paul and Tammy were blessed with twin boys; John Alvin and Lucas Richard.
Paul loved to cook and with that, gardening was a second hobby, particularly because he would grow what he used for his cooking. Paul also loved to read and enjoyed working on computers. He was a member of Mensa. His sons loved to ask him difficult questions and learn from his knowledge.
Paul is survived by his wife, Tammy and two sons, John and Lucas; two sisters, Wendy (Brandon King) Tietz, Huntsville, AL and Tammy Perry, Wellman, IA; his parent-in-laws, Richard and Sylvia Dorsett, Sioux Falls, one brother-in-law, Richard (Krista) Dorsett, Sioux Falls and sister-in-law, Heidi (Chris) Hicks, Durant, OK; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
