Raymond Feldman

March 3, 1940 ~ April 17, 2023

Raymond Feldman, 83, Sioux Falls, passed away at home, on April 17, 2023.

Raymond Feldman was born in Liverpool, England, on March 3, 1940. He was the son of Nathaniel and Ivy (Brown) Feldman.  He moved to the U.S. in 1967, and then to Mitchell, SD, in 1976.  Ray was an active member of the communities wherever he lived.  He helped start and coached, Mitchell’s first youth soccer program in the early ’80s. He was also the president of the Quarterback Club for a number of years.  Ray also volunteered for many organizations including the Red Cross.

One of Ray’s biggest joys was making people laugh. He cherished his grandchildren and made them laugh by telling legendary “Spanky” stories which were about his childhood.  In his retirement years, he could be spotted at open mic nights doing Standup comedy. Ray was a father who always supported his three children and loved watching their activities. Ray loved people and people loved him. He will be greatly missed.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his children, Adam Feldman, and Caroline Myers; grandchildren, Emma Feldman, Piper Myers, and Kirby Myers; and his brother, David Feldman.

Ray is now reunited with his son, Nick Feldman, in Heaven; along with his parents.

  • Fr. Jeff Norfolk says:

Thank You Jesus for Ray. At at when my life needed direction and a good male role model, God brought Ray into my life. He took us as rag tag highschoolers and taught us the game of soccer in a way that instilled in me a love of the game to this day. He was a great mentor to me and I looked up to him as a father figure. My prayers are with you his family members. A Catholic Mass will be offered for the repose of his soul.
