Robert S. Swanson, 56, Sioux Falls, died Thursday, June 09, 2016, at the Heritage Manor in Wakonda.
Memorial services will be 1pm, Monday, June 13, 2016, at Heartland Funeral Home, with visitation beginning one hour prior.
Robert Stephen Swanson was born January 24, 1960, in Sioux Falls to Richard and Madeline (Bofenkamp) Swanson. He attended school there and graduated from Washington High School. After high school, he worked at Elston’s Manufacturing from 1982 – 1999. He married Kathleen Hiller in 1984 and they had two children Ashley and Ryan.
Bob loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a handyman and was always fixing things around the house and on cars. He liked to come up with inventions in his head and he helped many neighbors by plowing their driveways in the winter. Bob liked to watch and attend auto races and he loved watching comedies.
Robert is survived by his two children, Ashley (Chris) Hagen, Sioux Falls, and Ryan (Jessica) Swanson, Bismarck, ND; four grandchildren, Addilynn, Alexander, Danica and Baby boy due in August; and four siblings, Michael (Laurie), Patricia (Tom) Van Ash, Richard Jr. (Nancy), and James.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Madeline (Bofenkamp) Swanson, and one brother, David Swanson.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
