Delores J. Larson, 93, Sioux Falls, SD, passed away, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at home with family.

A Graveside Service will be held in July (date TBD) at Fairhaven Memorial Park in Santa Ana, CA, where she will be laid to rest with her husband Larry.

In Memorial of Delores, any contributions received will be contributed to the Day Break program (Active Generations) in Sioux Falls, SD, which provided hours of care, activity, socialization and love in an environment safe for those suffering with dementia and allowing caregivers respite and peace of mind. Delores was born on July 27, 1930, in Pollock, SD. She was the daughter of Ferdinand and Elizabeth Albrecht. She was a graduate of Aberdeen High School Class of 1948.

On November 4, 1950, Delores was united in marriage to Larry G Larson, in Biloxi, Mississippi. This marriage was blessed with 3 children, Larry Gale Larson Jr., Gregory Alan Larson, and Dawn Marie Blair. Delores and Larry resided in Biloxi, Mississippi, and later moved to Denver, CO, where their son Larry was born, and then Spokane, WA where Greg was born. They shared just over 51 years of marriage and during their marriage lived in Minneapolis, MN, Palo Alto, CA, where Dawn was born, Columbia Heights, MN, San Carlos, CA, Newport Beach, CA, Orange, CA, Andover, MA, Barrington, IL, Ames, IA and Casa Grande, AZ. Delores moved to live with her daughter, Dawn, in Sioux Falls, SD, in 2019.

Early in her marriage, Delores worked to help put her husband through college. She was employed by Twin City Hardwood Lumber and remembered them fondly through her life.

Delores found our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was Born Again, in her 40’s through the witness of her son, Larry, and Calvary Chapel, Costa Mesa, CA. She lived devoted to her Savior.  “And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith: Hebrews 12:1

Delores enjoyed traveling on business with her husband and they traveled to many interesting places such as China, Japan, Turkey, Egypt, Israel, France, Norway & Mexico. Delores enjoyed furniture decoupage and putting together and painting china dolls. She also spent many years working as a volunteer with the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Above all, Delores loved her family and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Delores is survived by her children, son Larry Larson and wife Bridget of Spring Hill, TN, Greg Larson and his wife Lori of Sioux Falls, SD, and Dawn Blair and her husband Samuel of Sioux Falls, SD. Grandchildren, Elizabeth Wilkenson (Eric), Larry Larson III (Stephanie), Nathanael Blair (Krystle), Laura Blair, Philip Larson, and Ian Larson, and great-grandchildren Jazmyn Blair, Robert Miles, Christian Wilkenson, Shay Wilkenson, Leia Blair, and Benjamin Blair.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Larson, her parents, Ferdinand and Elizabeth Albrecht, her siblings, Irvine (Edna) Albrecht, Elmer (Virginia) Albrecht, Wilmer Albrecht, Viola (Kenny) Gilbertson, Ruby (Art) Prouse, Iris (David) Doeringsfeld, and her twin sister Doris (Marvin) Nickell.
