Grandma….you will be missed. Everytime I see a cardnial I will think of you, no other cookies will ever taste as good as the ones that came out of your cookie jar. Family get-togethers will allways be missing something from now on.

The good thing is, YOU and g’pa can dance again, clean some fish together, and you each got your FAVORITE card playing partner back !!!!

I remember your mom she was a great lady! This last name probably does not ring a bell, but I am Tanya’s (Otten)mom. Rich and Tanya first met in head start and then went thru school together. You and I used to be best of friends. I have fond memories of all the times we got together for coffee or just to chit chat. You have my sympathies. Your mom is now in a far better place and once again with your dad. May God comfort you at time of great loss. I keep in touch with Rich on facebook. Maybe some day we can reconnect…I would like that. Take care and God Bless!! (you can ask Rich about me just in case you do not remember me)

Dear family of Elaine – We are so sorry we are not going to be able to make it to the service for your mom tomorrow. Had hoped that we, or I, would be able to come to the funeral home tonight, but that isn’t going to happen either. Joe’s sister and family are here from Washington.

What a special lady your mom/grandmother was. The picture you chose is truly her – she was never without a smile (at least I don’t remember her without one). I’m sure you children may have made her frown once in a while (we all were a test for our moms). I’m sure you each have your own special memories to draw on in the lonely times. Enjoy those memories and cherish them. God was good to give them to us.

If you haven’t read the book “Heaven Is For Real” by Todd Burpo, I encourage you to do so. What a comfort it has been for me (and others) to be told what lies ahead for us by a 4-year old boy. WOW.

Prayers for strength in the days ahead as you grieve this earthly loss. Prayers for peace as you realize that she’s at home with Jesus and once again with your dad and Betty Ann and other loved ones.

With love and sympathy, LeAnn and Joe Hummel

Grandma…you are already missed…cardinals, ice cream, orange pop and bracelets are just a few of the things that come to my mind when I think of you. Much love now and always!!!

  • Cheryl Austad says:

I was saddened to hear of Elaine’s death. Her daughter, Betty, and I graduated from Lyons High School in 1959. Since I lived in Crooks and was Betty’s good friend, I was a frequent visitor in Elaine’s home. Elaine was always very interested in all the things that Kermit and her children were doing. Plus, she was always very welcoming to me. I pray that God will comfort her family today and always.

  • Heather(Namanny) Schwenk says:

Nytroe family…So sorry to hear of Elaine’s passing, what a neat lady! I got to know her through my grandparents and the Moose Lodge. I will never forget when I had chicken pox as a yound kid and we were running our fireworks stand east of Valley Springs, we had the smallest camper and I was miserable, Kermit and Elaine brought their motorhome with A/C for me to sleep in. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

  • Katy Carlson says:

Elaine, I know I only knew you a short time but I do know that you were an awesome woman and I want to thank you so very much for bringing such a wonderful family into my life, because you created them! I can feel you watching down and smiling on us. We will all miss you like crazy but we will see you again someday.

To the Nytroe family, my thoughts and prayers.
