My husband worked with Tobby years ago in Chula Vista. We’re sad to hear he passed away. Condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace.

Tobby was one of a kind, and one of the kindest. His sense of humor was a vital component of the overall high morale of his coworkers at Red Lobster in Chula Vista. After I left RL in 2010 I was blessed enough to continue spending time with him, leading right up to the evening before he got on a plane to move back east. We joked about the weather, as I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt that evening and San Diego boy he was, he was nervous about flying into sub-zero temperatures. Among the last words I spoke to him in person were “At least your beer will never get warm and hot coffee will taste even better!”.
I learned the news of his passing earlier today (Friday, October 3rd) and as much as my heart is hurting, the gratitude I have for his friendship and the wonderful memories of working seven years together leave little room for sadness.
    Rest in Peace, dear friend…
