Robin Jolene Bandstra, 58, Bridgewater, died suddenly and unexpectedly, Friday, September 25, 2015, at Sanford USD Medical Center, in Sioux Falls.

A Memorial Visitation will be held 3-5pm, Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Heartland Funeral Home, Brandon. A private inurnment will take place at a later time, at the Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche,  next to her father, Gene.

Robin Jolene Loomis was born November 26, 1956, to Eugene and Evelyn (Mauch) Loomis at Belle Fourche. Robin moved many times due to her father’s military career. She graduated from school at Burlington, WI. She then attended college in Wisconsin and graduated with Bachelor degrees in Business and Accounting. Robin was a very direct, honest and upfront kind of a person. Whenever Robin would make a decision she would stand by her decision.

June 14, 1996, Robin married Bruce Bandstra in Sioux Falls. The couple resided in Sioux Falls for six years before moving to Bridgewater. They owned and operated Bandstra Blinds where she managed the office and worked projects alongside Bruce. Robin loved her peace and quiet and raising Alaskan Malamutes for over 18 years on the acreage, was perfect for her. She and Bruce also loved to camp and Robin loved to shop for different campers. Robin loved to spend her vacations waking up to the smell of the Spearfish Canyon pine trees and someday return to the area. Robin loved her family and her boys and granddaughter were her pride and joy.

Robin will be greatly missed by her husband, Bruce; sons, Jason, Steffen, Burlington, WI, Nathan (Brittany) Bandstra, Sioux Falls, Brandon Bandstra, Sioux Falls, and Justin (Cate) Bandstra, HI; one granddaughter, Avery; her mother, Evelyn, Spearfish; and one sister, Kelly Dirks, Akron, IA.

Robin was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Loomis.

Charles Wesley Slaughter

Charles W. Slaughter, 76, Sioux Falls, peacefully went to his heavenly home early Monday morning, September 28, 2015, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In his final days, he was surrounded by friends and family who comforted him through their singing and reminiscing. Charles’s family and his continued devotion to God supported him through his struggle, and ultimately he found peace.

Family Visitation will be 5-7pm, Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at Heartland Funeral Home, 1801 Frontier Street in Brandon, with a sharing time at 7pm. A Celebration of Life will begin at 2:30pm, Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1600 E 12th Street in Sioux Falls. Interment will follow at Swedona Covenant Cemetery, rural Brandon.

Charles Wesley Slaughter was born January 23, 1939, to Rufus and Julia Mae (Johnson) Slaughter at Buena Vista, GA. Upon the death of his mother, Charles moved to Philadelphia to be raised by his aunt, Marie Walker. After finishing high school, he attended Trinity Bible College and met his wife, Lauralea Jobbins. The couple resided in Philadelphia for a short while and then relocated to Huron, SD. He worked for Huron Mfg. and then the DM&E where he retired. In 2009, Charles moved to Sioux Falls to be closer to his children.

Charles had a heart for others. Charles was an active volunteer in his church. He taught Sunday school, and served as a deacon for several years. Through his devoted service as a bible quiz coach, Charles was a positive influence in the lives of young people who later went on to spread the gospel.
His hobbies included watching sports, listening to music, and telling ridiculous jokes. He loved watching the Philadelphia Eagles. He loved a wide variety of music, but especially had a passion for Jazz, Gospel, & Doo Wop music.

Charles loved is family more than anything, and enjoyed going to family breakfasts and regular get-togethers. He signed all of his text messages to family with the closing statement “always here”.

Charles will be deeply missed by his wife, Lauralea; five children, Don Slaughter, Omaha, NE, Daniel Slaughter, Sioux Falls, Christina (Paul) Rogers, Brandon, Michele Slaughter, Sioux Falls, and Apryl Slaughter, Sioux Falls; twelve grandchildren, Sharissa, Devon, Elisa, Liliana, Olivia, Ethan, Mbiya, Soleil, JeoLioneh, Dax, Ava, and Everly; two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Tucker; and very dear friends, Lee and Janelle Peterson; and two sisters, Cheryl Lynn Slaughter and Tammy Slaughter, both of Auburndale, FL.

Charles was welcomed at Heaven’s gates by his parents, Rufus and Julia Mae (Johnson) Slaughter, his Aunt Marie Walker, and dear friend, Sharron Peterson.
Heaven is a lucky place as it has gained the most hilarious angel there ever could be! You will be forever missed my father and friend – always here. SEE YA LATER ALLIGATOR! AFTER WHILE CHOCOLATE CHILD! (W.A.S.)

Richard “Dicky” William Warwick

Richard (Dicky) W. Warwick, 61, Sioux Falls, went home to be with his soul mate on September, 19 2015, at his home.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, September 25, 2015, at 11:00 am, at Heartland Funeral Home, Brandon SD.

Dick was born on October 29, 1953 in Sioux Falls to Mayme (Scallon) and Norine Warwick. Dicky grew up and attended school in Sioux Falls where he later would meet the love of his life. Richard married his best friend, Candy, on June 16, 1972. Together they had three beautiful girls, and the family grew to bless him with twelve grandchildren. Those who knew Dicky, knew he loved life, but most of all treasured his family.

Richard worked for the School Bus Inc., and the Minnehaha Co. Juvenile Detention Center before retiring in 2001. Dick and Candy also volunteered for the Special Olympics of Sioux Falls. He touched the lives of so many and was determined to make a difference in everyone he came into contact with.

Dick is survived by his mother, Mayme Warwick, Sioux Falls; daughters, Crystal Kuhnert, Jenny Warwick, and Shanon Warwick, all of Sioux Falls; one sister, LeAnn Sichmiller; he also leaves behind twelve grandchildren, Abby Farley, Jordan Reininger, Stevie, Hannah, Haily, and Khol Kuhnert, Dylan Warwick, Taryn Roach, Elizabeth Gottsch, Scott Warwick, Shane Ness, and Shaun Ness.

Dick is preceded in death by his soulmate, Candy; brothers-in-law, Chuck and Tommy Ganser; sister, Barbara Dant; and grandson, Travis Ness.

Wesley William Busse

Wesley William Busse, 77, Sioux Falls, entered Heaven’s gates, September 18, 2015, at the Sanford Hospice Foundation Cottage, in Sioux Falls.

Family visitation will be 5-7pm, Monday, September 21, 2015, at Linwood Wesleyan Church in Sioux Falls with a sharing time at 7pm. Funeral services will be 10AM, Tuesday, September 22, also at Linwood. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery will Full Military Rites.

Wesley William Busse was born April 1, 1938, in Willow Lake, SD, to Wesley F. and Elsena (Meester) Busse as one of four children. He attended and graduated from Willow Lake and then joined the US Marine Corp. Upon his completion of duty, Wes returned to Sioux Falls and began working for Baumgartner’s Electric. In June 1961, Wes married Charlyne Jensen. Two children were born to this union. In 1966, Wes joined the South Dakota Highway Patrol and was stationed in Vermillion as HP120. He served the area until 1982, when he was reassigned to Sioux Falls. In the meantime, Wes had married his true love, Darlene Ageton, and expanded his family with her three children. Wes retired from the patrol in 1987 and went to work for the SD Lottery as Security. He spent the next ten years with the Lottery.

Wes was a true family man and his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids meant everything to him. He loved to go to their activities. He also enjoyed teasing and surprising them. He loved woodworking and making shelves, toy boxes, rocking horses, and cabinets for everyone. He was known to pack tools in his suitcase to work on projects for Carrie at her home on his visits there. If there was a problem, a need or crises, he was always there first to help his family out.

Wes and Darlene were active members of Linwood Wesleyan Church.

Wes will be deeply missed by his wife, Darlene; five children, Brian Busse, Sioux Falls, Carrie (Anthony) Varesio, Glastonbury, CT, Lee (Teri) Ageton, Brandon, Tim (Cheryl) Ageton, Sioux Falls, and Kathy Ageton, Sioux Falls; eleven grandchildren, Amanda, Melissa, Ryan, Joshua, Kylie, Jim, Sarah, Erin, Kristin, Delaine and Corey; five great-grandchildren, Kodie, Masyn, Brayden, Owen, and Macie; and one sister, Thressa Gallipo, Sioux Falls.

Wes was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley F. and Elsena (Meester) Busse, and two sisters, Anna Mae Berg and Wilma Dunfee.

Shannon Elizabeth Geraets

Shannon Elizabeth Geraets, 22, Sioux Falls, died Saturday, September 12, 2015, at her home in Sioux Falls.

Memorial services will be 1:30 pm, Thursday, September 17, 2015, at Heartland Funeral Home in Brandon, South Dakota. Visitation begins at 5 pm, Wednesday, September 16th, also at Heartland Funeral Home, with family present to greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Shannon enjoyed her time at the family business Happy Dog Boarding Kennels playing with the family dogs plus she was a great help to Jerry in the kennel. Another love of Shannon’s was racing. Her Saturdays at I-90 Speedway in Hartford were among her happiest times.

Survivors include Shannon’s parents, Jerry Geraets and Dianne Elizabeth (Anney) Yearous-Geraets, Sioux Falls; three brothers and two sisters; Matt Roan Eagle, Medford Oregon, Danny ( Becky) Geraets, Dell Rapids, Amanda (Mark) Lieble, Dell Rapids, Jeremy(Maranda) Geraets, Colman, and Angie Geraets, Sioux Falls. Shannon is also survived by eight nieces and nephew’s that she was just starting to know. Shannon is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Shannon is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Gary and Irene Geraets; her maternal grandmother, Betty Jane Hinkley; and her paternal grandmother, Zona Bender.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Shannon’s memory to the Sioux Falls Humane Society or in an effort to effect change, a donation to NAMI; the National Association for Mental Illness.

Ashley Joelle Heesch

Ashley Joelle Heesch, 19, Sioux Falls, died Friday, September 4, 2015, from injuries sustained in a car accident.

Memorial services will be 2pm, Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Heartland Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at Noon.

Ashley Joelle was born October 9, 1995 in Sioux Falls to Arlen and Betsy (Teerink) Heesch. She was raised and attended school there and graduated from Washington High School in 2014. She attended college in Minneapolis at the Minnesota Art Institute.

Ashley was a free spirit that was learning who she was and blossoming beautifully. She loved her truck and spent hours driving around and listening to music in it. Ashley also liked “Anime” and “Monga” and watched many movies and read books involving the Japanese art. Her friends were very important to her as well and hangin’ at Fryin’ Pan was one of her “things.” She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

Ashley is survived by her parents, Arlen and Betsy; one sister, Emmalee, Sioux Falls; grandparents, Barb Pelkey, Sioux Falls, Lowell Feit, Luverne, MN, Bonnie Berscheid, Sioux Falls, and Lowell Heesch, Boise, ID; great-grandparents, Doris Berscheid, Sioux Falls, Howard & Lois Teerink, Worthington, MN, and Delbert & Madie Heesch, Sioux Falls; special friend, Tim Dumel; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ashley was greeted in Heaven by her one sibling, Jami Jo; Grandpa Jessie, and her great-grandfather, Gene.
